We kicked off the App Innovation Workshop series sponsored by Microsoft last Friday at the premises of e-Zest with a workshop on Cloud.
Subject matter experts from e-Zest and Pune User Group (PUG) gave attendees-many of whom are developers-more than just a feel of Azure and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), and Platform as a Service (PaaS).
Shailesh Kulkarni, Product Engineering Services SBU Head, kicked off the workshop by shedding light on the importance of deploying data on Cloud. “Cloud can add immense value not only for your company but also for your small to large enterprise clients,” he stressed.
The workshop commenced under the guidance of e-Zest facilitators who provided an intimate opportunity for participants to deploy Web APIs on Azure. After demos, attendees were given subscription access to Azure, and an opportunity to build an Azure function app. Subodh Sohoni, MVP ALM introduced participants to containers, and the differences between deploying applications on VMs and containers. He also demonstrated for Docker and Kubernetes.
“We reached out to developers and demonstrated the Azure platform. e-Zest is thrilled to be the host for the workshop series,” said Vikram Pendse, Microsoft MVP for Azure. As one of the facilitators at the workshop, he introduced Azure platform and its various service offerings.
An extended Q&A session concluded the day-long workshop where facilitators including Shahzad Adil, Jitendra Gund and Gouri Sohoni addressed questions from the audience.
DevOps and Cross-Platform Apps will be the subjects of our next (free) workshops to be held on June 1 and 8 respectively. To register or for more details click here.
