Microsoft is bringing together the power of mixed reality and AI (Azure) services to deliver just this yes, you read it right! – with a hologram that translates HoloLens keynotes into a language of your preference. Microsoft showcased its prowess in Mixed Reality, AI and text-to-speech HoloLens hologram. The software titan unveiled the technology during a keynote at the Microsoft Inspire partner conference recently held in Las Vegas. The crowd witnessed Azure and HoloLens combine to offer a hint of the future using AI technology and holographic experiences. This truly game-changing and revolutionary technology can transform and deliver a person into a digital speaker of another language. The crowd at the Inspire world were in awe when Microsoft scanned Julia White, a company executive for Azure at a Mixed Reality capture studio to transform and deliver her into an exact hologram replica speaking in Japanese. This is made possible by using Microsoft Azure AI technologies and neural text-to-speech. By taking recordings of her voice, it creates a personalized voice signature, to make it sound like she’s speaking Japanese. A truly surreal experience for the viewers as the digital version of her appeared onstage to translate the keynote into Japanese. Microsoft’s demonstration is certainly impressive and speaks sharply of the company’s ambitions with Azure, HoloLens, and beyond. What excites us the most as a digital innovator is a fact that though HoloLens 2 is targeted at businesses, for now, Microsoft is attempting to build software and services that will scale in line with wherever augmented reality might end up heading. This opens up a large window of opportunities for businesses to reimagine the ways to communicate their product and service offerings to their end-users and customers.
