Microsoft's Build developer conference is an event which is looked up by every Microsoft professional across the globe. This is big and famous event from Microsoft where they announce some of the interesting happenings that can potentially alter the computing industry for long time to come. Build 2016 was no different and it has lived up to the expectations, if we have to go by what Microsoft has announced during the event.

It has introduced Bash shell on Windows 10. This means developers will now be able to work on .sh Bash scripts natively on Windows 10 without having to go by virtualization way.
Cortana would become the focal point for its mobile and cloud first strategy. It will start appearing on all platforms and in some of Microsoft’s products too.
HoloLens which is talk of the town is been opened to developers from US and Canada only at this moment. Developers from these countries will be able to employ Universal Windows Platform to develop new mixed reality applications. This is poised to take Microsoft ahead in virtual reality game.
With introduction of Windows 10 the traditional developers were put off since their application required porting to run on newer Windows operating system. However, Microsoft has just announced the yet-to-be-launched desktop app converter which will convert Win32 and .NET applications to AppX app format. This is a big relief for many of traditional Microsoft developers.
Ignoring the bot-gate which is still recent in the mind of tech community Microsoft has stood tall behind its Bot Framework for developers that creates machine learning bots. This is believed to bring in newer form of automation in how we interact with computing devices and systems. The bridge will be Cortana for this. Microsoft is also bringing Cognitive Services to make systems capable of seeing, hearing, speaking, understanding and interpreting commands in natural mode of communication again using Cortana as interface.
