Experts view on key trends in cloud computing for 2014

Only a few more days away from the onset of 2014 and the probable trends for 2014 have already begun to roll. Here’s what some of the computing experts had to say about their big trends for 2014. Werner Vogels, Vice President and CTO of Amazon.com, typically stating that Cloud allows everyone to become a media company said further “expect a great rise in organizations especially those that are adding media capabilities to their offerings.” On the other hand Pete Baxter, UK, Managing Director, Autodesk said that access to cloud computing is changing the way design and engineering customers function.

Lesser Mobile BI adoption trend amongst companies reveals BARC BI survey

According to the latest BARC BI global survey, mobile Business Intelligence (BI) adoption is dwindling down and the much hyped and overpublicized social media analytics are too are now being little deployed. Also the 13th iteration of the survey polled 3,149 respondents from various companies from a variety of industry sectors from all over the world. The survey revealed that 16% of the companies are currently using mobile BI as compared to 8% companies using BI two years ago and around 13 % last year. Carsten Barge CEO of Barge also pointed out that the diversity of devices and OS’s are acting as the complicating factors for all the mobile BI projects.
