Cloud services named ‘Meghraj’ launched by Indian government to speed up delivery of e-services

In order to accelerate delivery of e-services in the country, the government of India has launched a GI Cloud Initiative named ‘Meghraj’ in an attempt to optimize the ICT (information and communications technology) spending of the government. This change of having a national cloud, as per the government shall ensure a maximum use of the infrastructure. It will also enhance and speed up the deployment and the overall development of the e-Government applications in the country.

This initiative has been basically set up to invoke a strategy encompassing several aspect and components that shall ensure a spread of cloud services in government. Kabil Sibal, minister of Communications and Information Technology launched the initiative and its being implemented by NIC.
