Anyone who has ever been at any Magento conference knows how great it is to be a part of the Magento tribe. At Magento Imagine, the scale is always a way bigger.
A big and growing community meets up
In its 8th edition, Magento Imagine saw over 3000 e-commerce experts from 50+ countries coming to Imagine, 150+ speakers and 100+ sessions. The three-day event saw e-commerce merchants, technology providers, digital agencies, developers, and e-commerce enthusiasts meet-up to share knowledge and dive deep into the world of digital commerce.
These are the people that work with Magento in various ways, starting with senior executives to technology providers – all were present to share, listen, network and learn the latest updates from the industry.
At Magento Imagine everything starts with the community
Having been a digital innovation partner for enterprises and a contributor as a Magento partner, Magento Imagine is definitely not something we wanted to miss! To support the thriving e-commerce community we have joined Magento as the Gold sponsor for this event.
Here we share the key highlights of Magento Imagine 2018
With 'Lead the charge' being the theme of this year's conference which is also Magento’s overall purpose, Mark Lavelle, CEO of Magento gave an inspiring session on leadership and values, starting the day 1 of the event.
Although many already knew the list of new Magento features and changes, there is always something new that Magento surprises us with. New releases were announced on stage at Imagine.
The key topics that were covered during the three-day event include:
- Magento Commerce Cloud
- Magento Business Intelligence for B2B
- GDPR
- Magento PWA studio
Magento launches Business Intelligence to B2B with powerful out-of-the-box BI capabilities that meet the demands of B2B companies. Magento BI provides integrated and easy-to-use reporting tools and dashboards that enable B2B companies with strategic data-driven decision making.
The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) goes into effect on May 25, 2018. These set of new laws and rules being enacted by the European Union impact how companies do business in the EU and may collect and handle personal information. Magento during the course of the event reassured they are eager to embrace and comply with the EU's new rules and their systems are compliant.
Magento Commerce also announced Magento Progressive Web Applications (PWA) Studio, a sweeping suite of tools for building online stores. PWA Studio will allow Magento Commerce solution partners and UX developers to deliver fast and simple front-end experiences on mobile devices with app-like experiences.
Apart from this, the networking, learning, and discussion around future of e-commerce space were a bonus. We look forward to Magento Imagine 2019!
