NOMAD speeds up Big Data Analytics

The ability to glean insights from massive chunks of data, or data analytics, is bringing huge benefits to many businesses and their consumers. It is helping areas as diverse as medicine, law enforcement and public services. A new data analysis tool called NOMAD now aims to speed up the process. Short for "non-locking, stochastic multi-machine algorithm for asynchronous and decentralized matrix completion," NOMAD can pull insights faster than other comparable tools. It is also able to explore large datasets which can break other such software.

Mobility in the workplace needs to be ubiquitous: Google

At a recent conference, Google's product management head Andrew Toy stated that mobility should become ubiquitous within the next five years. Toy said that the mobility strategies for both big and small businesses needs to go the way 'internet strategy' did few years ago. He said that there should be 100% mobilization of employees and workflows. However, Toy also added that the technologies which will allow such progress do not exist currently and need to be developed.
