It’s always a full house when Microsoft organizes workshops. e-Zest collaborated with Microsoft and Pune User Group (PUG) as a partner for the App Innovation Workshop series. With three engaging workshops on Cloud, Xamarin, and DevOps, presenters were able to enlighten the participants, mainly IT professionals of Pune on employing these trending technologies as they build apps.
Friday was a busy day at e-Zest with the last of the series- Xamarin- facilitated by Mayur Tendulkar, Microsoft Singapore’s Technology Solutions Professional. The workshop kick-started with activation of an “Azure Pass” worth $150 for each of the 31 participants courtesy of Microsoft. Tendulkar gave a brief presentation on the difference between building Web Apps vs building Mobile Apps and the importance for developers to have a “Mobile Mindset” to build mobile solutions.
Tendulkar also demonstrated the difference between what is a Shared Code and PCL (Portable Class Library). The hands-on nature of the workshops was well suited to the purpose of the workshops and discussions over breaks demonstrated the satisfaction level of participants.
The speaker ended the workshop with some demos on Microsoft Cognitive Services (AI Platform) with Azure to show the capabilities of Microsoft's new age AI services. He also demonstrated how easily and quickly applications can be built using these services.
The three sessions were aimed at having participants build & design a mobile app using the technologies under the guidance of the facilitators.
