e-Zest members share technology ideas to foster digital transformation.

Digital Commerce Hackathon 2018 - 12 hours of Innovation

e-Zest, a Pune based digital innovation partner for enterprises, hosted its first Digital Commerce Hackathon yesterday in Pune. The event brought together 30 teams of coders and developers who toiled for twelve hours to develop digital commerce innovations around a digital commerce theme.
The purpose of this event was to provide a platform for developers and coders to challenge their own abilities and develop something innovative within the stipulated time. The quality of products that emerged out of the hackathon, speaks volumes about the potential of growth of the domain.

The enthusiasm and positive spirit of the participating teams helped make the day both productive and fun.

“I would not have been able to code successfully in the absence of such vibrant energy at e-Zest,’ said Omkar Khair, a member of the winning team. He designed JetPay, an offline digital payment system that uses cryptographically signed transactions like bank cheques along with credibility certificate.

Pravin Patil and Kailash Lambe from e-Zest won the second prize. They had innovated a biometric payment system saving all time required creating account, authenticating the user and bringing in more transparency in the digital realm.

Three other teams that made it to the final round received the honorable mention award.
Innovations for the sport and car resale industry, mall offers, travel recommendations, and payment gateways were some of the other ideas that stood out.

“There were many topics covered during the hackathon and all participants did an outstanding job of leveraging their expertise to deliver innovative digital commerce ideas in just 12 hours. The two winning teams won because of their innovation and thought process. Their products were not only innovative but very practical too. Ideas only become successful if they take into account the rapid transformations in businesses & society due to digital technologies,” said Devendra Deshmukh, CEO, and Founder of e-Zest.

Winning teams bagged prize money worth 75K, and were able to network, receive validation of their ideas, and support from others in building their concepts. It was an open event that welcomed teams from other companies and cities.

After this successful event, e-Zest will strengthen its commitment & focus on building innovations in the field of digital commerce and will continue promoting the digital commerce innovations through events such as hackathons and Magento like e-Commerce technology meetups.
